Wellbeing

Welcome back everyone!
It has been so lovely to see all of the happy faces again, there are some great holiday stories being told and certainly lots of growing that has been done over the holidays.
These first couple of weeks are very important as we focus on building new relationships, create a sense of belonging in new learning spaces and set up consistent routines. We know that all these things assist children to achieve their best which is why we place such importance on them.
The Berry Street Education Model is where we draw all of our wellbeing philosophies from at St Anne's. A couple of Berry Street Education Model concepts staff focused on at the beginning of this year are below.
'I am welcome here, I matter here'
This is very much how we'd like all of our students to feel.
I look forward to a wonderful year together. Please don't hesitate to reach out to class teachers or myself if you have any concerns.
Kind regards

School Advisory Committee
The School Advisory Committee (SAC) is a team of representatives from the school community whose role is to provide advice on educational matters relating to the school to the principal. The SAC supports the principal making key decisions in the life of the school, ultimately with the goal of improving student and school outcomes and experiences. It also provides a necessary link between the Parish Priest- through both himself and his parent representative, Principal, teachers and the school community.
The SAC works on projects or helps resolve issues within our community. Some of the recent works have included:
- providing valuable advice on topical community issues that affect our school
- our physical school environment such as facilities improvement and maintenance
- community building and promotional activities
Longstanding members of the SAC stepped aside at the end of last year. Again I thank Ben Cadd, Samantha O'Connor and Andrew Woff for their dedication and drive. If you feel you may have the time (about 6 meetings per year) and the interest in this please make contact with me.
Kind regards
Rod Shaw
