Environment and Sustainability at GPS

Our actions and passion associated with natural environment and sustainability, here at Gardenvale Primary School, has been inspiring for well over a decade. Our YABBIES are thriving, our Chicken House has transformed into a QUAIL Palace, our studies of local animals continues to surprise us, our COMPOSTING and garden programs are flourishing and this year we’ll be building a new indigenous animal enclosure!

Students can attend Garden Clubs on Friday lunchtimes at the Junior Campus and Thursdays at the Senior Campus.

Please remember (all members of our school community, children and adults) that we do not provide outdoor bins Mondays to Thursdays. Most of us are completely ‘rubbish-free’. If any person does have food packaging it must be returned home that afternoon.

Also, students may only drink water at school. We don’t approve of milk drinks or sugary drinks here at Gardenvale PS.

Feel free to pour water on any plant that looks a bit dry, especially during February and March. On behalf of these thirsty plants, I thank you.

Yours in gardening gloves
