Welcome to Term 3

Welcome back to all our families for Term 3. We hope the break was a restful one and that students have returned ready for a busy and productive term ahead. There is a lot happening across the school over the coming weeks, and we look forward to sharing it with you.

Year 9 Holocaust Museum Excursion

Today, Friday 17th July, our Year 9 students visited the Melbourne Holocaust Museum. It was a powerful experience that gave students the chance to engage deeply with an important part of history. Our thanks go to the staff who organised the day and accompanied students. Excursions like this take considerable planning, and we are grateful for the work behind the scenes that made it possible.

Year 11 Work Experience

In Week 3, our Year 11 students will undertake work experience in Melbourne. This is a valuable opportunity for students to step into a real workplace, build practical skills and gain insight into potential career pathways. Beyond the workplace itself, the week helps students develop confidence, professionalism and independence as they navigate a work environment first-hand. These experiences often shape the subject choices and post-school plans students make in the years that follow, and we encourage families to talk with their child about what they hope to take from the week.

Kindergarten Construction On Site

Families driving past may have noticed the significant works currently underway on site with the construction of the new kindergarten. This is an exciting development that will be a wonderful asset for the wider community once complete. We appreciate your patience while these works are carried out and will keep families informed as the project progresses.

Power Works and Generator On Site

As part of a major upgrade, a generator will remain on site until the next school holidays while we complete the changeover to a new switchboard. This is a significant piece of work, and during the changeover the school will be without mains power for a period of time. The generator ensures we can continue operating as normal throughout. We will let families know if there is anything further they need to be aware of as the works continue.

NAPLAN Results

Your child's NAPLAN results have been posted home, and we encourage you to read through them together with your child. NAPLAN offers a useful point-in-time snapshot, but it is only one of many ways we measure student progress alongside classroom tasks, ongoing observations and other assessment data. As a staff, we spend considerable time unpacking this information to celebrate where students are succeeding and to identify where we can continue to improve outcomes. If you would like to discuss your child's results in more detail, please get in touch. We are always happy to talk through what the data means and how we can best support your child's learning.

Industrial Action, 23 July
