From The Team

Hello to our wonderful Junior School families!

Welcome back to Term 3! It feels crazy to be saying that already.

As always, the first few weeks have been full of fun, learning and special celebrations! We have celebrated NAIDOC Week, continued practising for our upcoming school production and marked the exciting milestone of 100 Days of Learning. It has been wonderful to see our students so engaged in their learning and these special events.

During NAIDOC Week, our students took part in a whole-school Scoresby Superstars session, where we came together to celebrate and learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and achievements. Our Foundation students also explored the beautiful Indigenous mural on the Performing Arts building. Using a poster of Indigenous symbols, they carefully identified and interpreted the symbols within our own mural, discovering the story it tells and developing a deeper appreciation for the rich culture and history it represents.

Celebrating 100 Days of Learning was another highlight! From building friendships and establishing classroom routines to developing their literacy and numeracy skills, every student has so much to be proud of. We loved celebrating this special milestone together.

Junior School Events

100 Days of Learning!

What a spectacular day we had celebrating 100 Days of Learning! Students arrived in an amazing array of creative costumes inspired by the number 100 and enjoyed a day packed with fun activities. We went on a 100 Lollies Hunt, completed 100-themed writing, created colourful crafts and, of course, did lots of counting!

A particular highlight was enjoying ice-creams topped with 100 & 1000s sprinkles and working together to make a chocolate ripple cake in the shape of 100. It was a wonderful way to celebrate just how much we've learned and grown over the first 100 days of school!

Commonwealth Games

The Junior School have been thoroughly enjoying learning about the Commonwealth Games. This week we even had a go at playing lawn bowls, practising our skills while being friendly competitors, just like the athletes in the real Games!

Code Dress Up Day

At the end of last term, our Foundation-Year 2 students enjoyed a fantastic 'Dress Up as Your Favourite Code' Day! The students excitedly dressed as the phonics codes they have been learning and took part in a variety of fun, hands-on activities to practise and celebrate their growing code knowledge.

A special highlight of the day was our afternoon session, where families joined in creating code crowns and playing code games. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable.
