Principal Update

Issue No 13

Term 3 - Week 7

Dear Families

It has been another productive and positive few weeks at St Kilian's, with a strong focus on student wellbeing, community connection and preparation for a number of exciting events ahead.

Keep an eye on the playground over the coming weeks as we begin to see progress on site. Our new Administration Hub is expected to be operational as early as next week, and we look forward to welcoming families through the new spaces once the transition is complete.

We also look forward to welcoming dads and special guests to our Father's Day Breakfast on Friday 4 September. The breakfast will be held near the canteen from 8:00am and promises to be a wonderful opportunity for families to connect and celebrate together. We hope to see many of you there for what is sure to be a very special morning.

Book Week Parade

Get ready to bring your favourite storybook characters to life!

Join us on Friday 28 August at 9:00am on the Basketball Court as we celebrate Book Week with our annual Character Parade. Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character and join their class for a fun-filled morning celebrating the joy of reading. Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend and cheer on our young bookworms.

ORIMA Family Survey

Families should recently have received an email inviting them to participate in the ORIMA School Improvement Survey. This survey provides valuable feedback to help St Kilian's continue strengthening our partnerships with parents, families and students.

Students in Years 3-6 and staff members will also participate in the survey process. The information gathered is an important component of our ongoing school improvement journey. Your feedback helps us celebrate our strengths while identifying opportunities for future growth.

We strongly encourage all families to take the opportunity to complete the survey when they receive the invitation.

Enrolments

Planning for 2027 is already well underway. Please inform the office if your child/ren will not be at St Kilian's in 2027.  If you know of families considering St Kilian's for 2027, please encourage them to contact the school office as soon as possible to discuss enrolment opportunities.

School Uniform

We ask all families to ensure students wear the correct school uniform each day. Recently, a small number of non-uniform items have appeared, and we are working with students to maintain consistent standards.

Wearing the school uniform correctly helps foster a sense of identity, pride and belonging within our school community. Uniform items are available through the school and can be ordered via the school uniform link.

School Supervision Hours

Before School

Please note that school grounds are unsupervised before 8:30am. For the safety of all students, children should not arrive before this time unless attending a supervised program.

After School

Students should be collected by 3:30pm, as staff supervision concludes at that time. If you anticipate being delayed, please contact the school office. Families requiring care beyond 3:30pm are encouraged to utilise the YMCA After School Care program operating from the school hall.

Parents & Friends Association

The Parents & Friends Association continues to play a vital role in strengthening our school community through social activities and fundraising initiatives.

Current Initiatives include; Pie Drive, Deb Ball, Father's Day Breakfast & Stall, Christmas Fair, cookbook production. The P&F are always looking for volunteers to help with events.

Next Meeting: Tuesday 15th September

We sincerely thank the committee and all volunteers for their ongoing support of our school.

Jared Cooney Horvath Parent Resources

Families are reminded that only a few months remain to access the excellent parent resources prepared by educational neuroscientist Jared Cooney Horvath for Sandhurst schools.
