Principal's Message 

As we move further into Term 3, it has been wonderful to see the positive energy and enthusiasm across Marangaroo Primary School. I would like to thank all students and families that supported the school last week with the Book Week Parade and the Open Evening. Your support and participation helped make both events such a great success. It was fantastic to see our students embracing the spirit of Book Week and sharing their creativity and love of reading, while our Open Evening provided a wonderful opportunity for families to come into the school and celebrate the learning and creativity of our students.

The remainder of this term looks particularly busy, with many exciting events occurring throughout the school. The Athletics Carnival and Father’s Day events are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks, providing further opportunities for our students, staff and families to come together and celebrate our school community. I encourage all families to review the school planner attached to this newsletter for upcoming events and important dates.

2027 Kindy Enrolments

We are currently accepting enrolments for kindergarten in 2027 and are pleased to have 26 enrolments at this stage. Due to the level of interest, I am currently considering the possibility of offering two Kindergarten classes in 2027. For this to be viable, we will need to receive a minimum of 30 Kindergarten enrolments.

I would also like to thank all of the families who have already submitted a Kindergarten enrolment application. We appreciate your interest in joining the Marangaroo Primary School community. Families who have submitted an application will hear from the school regarding kindergarten placements during the coming week.

If you, or someone you know, has a child who turns four years of age on or before 30 June 2027, please visit the school office to collect an enrolment pack and submit your application. If you know of a family who may be considering Kindergarten for 2027, please encourage them to contact the school. Reaching 30 enrolments will give us the opportunity to explore providing two Kindergarten classes and welcoming even more families to the Marangaroo Primary School community.

School Board

The School Board plays an important role in connecting Marangaroo Primary School with our families and wider community. The Board works with the Principal and school leadership to contribute to the strategic direction of the school, consider school priorities and review progress towards improving outcomes for our students.

The Board is made up of members of our school community, including parents, community members, staff and the principal. Board members bring a range of perspectives, skills and experiences to support the school. While the Board provides advice and oversight on matters such as school priorities, student outcomes and community engagement, the day-to-day management of the school remains the responsibility of the principal and school leadership team.

We currently have one vacancy on our School Board, with a further vacancy becoming available at the end of the year. We are seeking parents or community members who would like to contribute to the ongoing development of Marangaroo Primary School and support the school in achieving the best possible outcomes for our students.

Staff Carpark

A friendly reminder to families that the staff carpark is for staff use only. I have noticed an increasing number of families using the staff carpark during school drop-off and pick-up times, which is reducing the availability of parking bays for our staff.

More importantly, the use of the staff carpark by families creates a safety concern for our students. There are frequently vehicles moving through this area, and having additional pedestrians and children walking between parked and moving cars increases the risk of an accident. We want to ensure that students can move safely around the school at the beginning and end of each day.

Families are asked to please use the Kiss and Drop area, Addington Way, or the Marangaroo Golf Course carpark when dropping off or collecting students.
