Library Leaders

Hello, our names are Anthony, Israel, Hedley, Cruz, Seth, Sophia, Noah and Diyon, and we are your library leaders for 2026. Our role as the library leader is to help out in the library when students need help and to support Mrs Gregory with special projects and important tasks.

When our classes visit the library, one of our responsibilities is to return our classmates' books and reshelve them in the correct places. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, we rotate shifts to reshelve other books that are misplaced to the correct places.

This year, we celebrated Book Day on Thursday, 13th of August. The theme of Book Day was to dress up as the book character Wally. Students from all classes participated in this event and had lots of fun. We also had the privilege of meeting the famous author Jo Dabrowski. Jo read us a book called “Dear Broccoli”, which was about a child named Frank who doesn’t want to eat Broccoli, and writes a letter to Broccoli explaining why. Jo taught us about persuasive writing and shared some helpful tips on how to write persuasive letters.

We read Tiwi in Paris, The Frog’s First Song for the 5/6s and 3/4s, and Frogs are our Friends for the 1/2s and Preps, and made colourful and decorative instruments, made origami jumping frogs and made frog puppets with paper plates.

We thank Mrs. Gregory for organising this exciting, fantastic and informative event with Jo and Book Day. We’re sure that all the students enjoyed meeting Jo and learned something new from her presentation.

For the rest of Year Six, we will be looking forward to participating in more activities, representing the school in competitions and helping out in the Library. We are also looking forward to being with friends learning about new things in the subjects we learn and trying our best every time. When the year comes to an end, we wish we could make some core memories with our friends and peers before we move up to high school because when we do, we are going to learn new things, meet new people and make new friends and also strengthen the relationship with the friends we already have.

Sincerely,

Library Leaders.
