Student Wellbeing

Student Engagement at Corpus Christi 2026

Dear Families,

Welcome back to Term 4! It has been wonderful to see the children return with big smiles, a relaxed vibe and lots of enthusiasm. After a restful two-week break, the children have enjoyed sharing their holiday stories with excitement and enthusiasm, reconnecting with friends and settling back into school routines.

Term 4 is always an exciting time of the year, but it is also an extremely busy term.

As we move towards the final stages of the school year and begin preparing for the festive season, it is important that we remain mindful of the wellbeing of our children, families and staff. Taking time to pause, breathe and look after ourselves and one another can make a big difference during this busy period. We encourage families to prioritise rest, connection and quality time together wherever possible.

Child Safety Curriculum

As part of our Social and Emotional Learning curriculum, Term 4 has a strong focus on Child Safety. Throughout the term, students will participate in age-appropriate learning experiences that support them to understand how they can keep themselves safe, recognise when something does not feel right and identify adults they can trust.

We will acknowledge Day for Daniel (October 30), with learning focused on body awareness, recognising how our bodies can feel when we are uncomfortable or unsafe, and knowing what to do when we need help.

In the senior years, students will explore consent, personal boundaries and giving permission during social interactions, as well as identifying trusted adults and understanding when and how to seek support.

We will also continue to build students' understanding of online safety, helping them develop safe and responsible habits when using technology and engaging online.

Later in the term, all year levels will explore the Rights of the Child and acknowledge World Children's Day (20 November), providing age appropriate opportunities for students to consider their rights, responsibilities and the importance of ensuring every child feels safe, respected, valued and heard. You can read more about World Children's Day using the link below.

As always, families can access a range of helpful resources through the eSafety Commissioner, including practical information about keeping children safe online, managing technology and supporting children as they navigate the digital world. Families are encouraged to explore the available parent webinars and register for sessions that may be useful for your family. These sessions provide practical advice and strategies to support children and young people with online safety. Please click on the link below for further details.

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is this Saturday 10 October. This year the theme is Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change. The focus is moving from voices to action.

This is a timely reminder that our mental health and wellbeing matter at every age. As a school community, we encourage our CCK children to talk about their feelings, be kind to others, ask for help when they need it, and make time for activities that help them feel calm and connected.

For our parents and carers, it is also important to make time to look after yourselves. As parents, life can be busy, and taking a moment to rest, connect with others, enjoy something you love or simply pause and breathe can make a difference.

Looking after your own wellbeing helps you be there for the people you care for.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, and no one has to do it alone.

The weekly PBL rule is drawn from our Behaviour Matrix. Each week our children focus on a whole school rule that meets our five school expectations.

                 This week’s PBL focus is:

             EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME

We are learning to follow instructions.
