Sick Bay Notification
🩹 Care for Unwell Students
Students who are unwell should not attend school.
If a student becomes unwell during the school day, they may be directed to the First Aid room where they will be monitored by staff. Depending on the nature of their symptoms, parents/carers or an emergency contact may be contacted and asked to collect the student.
🤢 Vomiting and Diarrhoea
If a student presents to the First Aid room with vomiting or diarrhoea, they will be required to go home and remain at home until they have been completely free from these symptoms for the required period.
In line with Department of Education guidelines:
- Students must remain at home until they have been free from vomiting and diarrhoea for at least 24 hours.
- During a localised gastrointestinal outbreak, students may be required to remain at home for 48 hours from their last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea.
This helps to reduce the spread of gastrointestinal illnesses within our school community and supports the health and wellbeing of students and staff.
We appreciate the cooperation of all families in keeping our school community healthy and helping to prevent the spread of illness.
2026 Canteen
The Banyan Fields Primary School canteen is now open for orders!
From Wednesday 4th February, we’ll be using Flexischools for canteen ordering at our school. Over-the-counter sales will be available at recess and lunchtime!
🍎 Canteen Days: Our canteen will be open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, making lunch orders quick, easy and cash-free!

Flexischools is Australia’s #1 school ordering solution, used in over 2,100 schools nationwide. It allows parents and students to conveniently order and pay for school lunches through the Flexischools app, available on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).
The canteen menu and further information regarding Flexischools will be attached.
Over-the-counter sales will be available at recess and lunchtime. Please ensure students bring no more than a $10 note. Any amount over $10 will require a phone call home.
