Welcome to Term 4 - always a very busy time of year. In this fortnight, 2027 Kinder transition continues, we have our girls soccer team competing in the state quarter finals, New England Sings! final rehearsals and weekend concert, State Athletics Carnival, debating, BVPS cricket game, additional high school transition for EAL/D and Aboriginal students, and our SRC fundraiser.

We welcome back Mr Pryce, who has returned to school today following a spectacular mountain bike crash in the holidays. We are glad he is recovering well.

Creative Arts Showcase

In the final week of last term, our Creative Arts Showcase shone a spotlight on the many creative and performing arts talents of our students. It was a fantastic celebration of our students and the range of opportunities that our students have access to in the area of Creative Arts. Thank you to Mrs Porter, Mrs Farmer, Mrs McMillan, Miss Campbell, Miss Macey and all teachers involved for your work in making the evening such a success.

Creative Streets Festival

Congratulations to all students involved in the Armidale Creative Streets Festival's opening night over the weekend. From artworks, to sculptures, to murals and to dance performances, Ben Venue students were thoroughly involved in this fantastic community event.  A huge thank you and congratulations goes out to Janna Hayes, the festival organiser, who facilitated our involvement in the event.

Thank you also to all of the teachers involved in providing the experience for our students and preparing them for the event, to the students for being a part of the rehearsals and creating fantastic artworks, and to the parents and our school community for being a part of it all on the day.

K-2 students created a mural backdrop for the Culture Stage in Confetti Lane.

Together We Grow

135 unique circles. 135 creative minds. One beautiful community.

Each Stage 1 student created a circle inspired by their own patterns, colours and ideas. Just as every child is unique, so too is every circle. When brought together, these individual creations form a vibrant tree - celebrating our creativity, our connections and our sense of belonging. Together, we create something greater than any one of us could create alone.

Stage 2 students created artworks inspired by the landscapes and landforms that shape Australia using string, PVA glue, foil and Textas.

S3 students from S3F and S3O created graffiti inspired by their Slam Poetry unit in English. The graffiti was then made into Art Gobo Slides and projected onto the ground during the festival.

Craft Club students created some fantastic sculptures using recycled materials.

Towers of Imagination

Collaboratively created by students from Kinder to Stage 3 in Craft Club at Ben Venue Public School. Towers of Imagination is a playful and colourful imaginative cityscape. Everyday craft materials, cylinders and boxes were transformed into  colourful towers through bold and textural colour choices. Each piece was individually decorated, then brought together to create a vibrant and imaginative cityscape.

The Stage 3 Jumpstart singers and dancers performed at the CLIPPED! Karaoke stage and impressed the crowd with their enthusiasm.

Our line dancers eagerly awaited the singer, Nate Marks, to sing Some Days You Gotta Dance by Keith Urban to which they performed their much anticipated line dancing flash mob. Students had been rehearsing for weeks leading up to the event and came with their boots on, ready to put their hard work into action. Thank you to the students in both performance groups for their commitment, 'The Cheryls' who taught us the dance and to the Armidale Council for facilitating the line dancing workshops.

What a fantastic opening night it was! Thank you again to all involved.

2027 requests

The window for 2027 requests for student pairings, separations or specific teachers has now closed. While we do attempt to accommodate all preferences, conflicting requests are often made and multiple classroom dynamics need to be considered when forming classes. As such, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be met.

Not returning to Ben Venue?

A form will soon be sent to all families via School Bytes, seeking advice from families who may be moving away from Armidale next year. If your child/children will not attend Ben Venue in 2027, we ask that you please let us know via this form. Please note that this is not required for students moving to high school.
