Mathematics

In Term 2, our areas of instruction will focus on:
Fractions
Fractions can be used to represent parts of whole numbers, including numbers greater than one; their magnitude can be represented on number lines.
3D Objects
3D objects have faces and surfaces composed of 2D shapes.
Decimals
The base ten place value system can be extended to decimals (tenths, hundredths and thousandths), to represent parts of whole numbers.
Probability
Theoretical probability can be calculated and compared to actual outcomes of chance experiments; the conditions of chance experiments can affect the outcomes.
2D Shapes
2D shapes can be transformed, creating changes that can be described in terms of translation, rotation or reflection.
Time
Times can be written in 12-hour or 24-hour format.
