Year 6 writing

For the past 3 weeks, the Year 6s have learnt 9 different poetry types poems with Mrs Gara. The poems we have learnt are quatrains, blackout, cinquains, haikus, limericks, acorostic concrefe, free verse and diamantes. My personal favourite is free verse because I can express my feelings into them, without having to follow any sort of rules.

Waste Free Wednesday

At Deer Park West Primary School, every Wednesday the school participates in Waste Free Wednesday. The students are encouraged to bring a lunch box with NO RUBBISH for both recess and lunch. This is a great way to reduce the amount of waste we create in order to make the earth healthier. 

Please assist your child/children in doing this by taking items out of their packets before coming to school.
