Hello to our wonderful Junior School Families!
What a fantastic fortnight it has been across the Junior School!
We loved celebrating the Education Week theme of ‘Showcasing Our School’. It was wonderful to welcome so many grandparents and special friends into our classrooms for Open Morning. We also had a fantastic turnout at Open Night, with so many students and families attending to celebrate the amazing things happening across our school community.
In Integrated Studies, students have been making excellent progress in our ‘Amazing Animals’ unit. They have been busy designing and constructing their own animals while learning about habitats, features and survival needs. We have been so impressed with their creativity and enthusiasm throughout the unit.
We would also like to warmly welcome Miss Evie H to the Junior School.
Miss Evie is a pre-service teacher who will be working in Foundation W four days a week until the end of Week 8. We are excited to have her as part of our learning community and know the students will enjoy working with her.
Hi! My name is Evie and I'm a student teacher completing my placement with Foundation W. I'm in my fourth year studying at Deakin, so these are my final placements before I become a fully-fledged teacher! I'll be here until Week 8 and will be back again for another five weeks next term. Outside of Uni I work in disability support, and I love all things creative including sewing, scrapbooking and painting. If you see me around, feel free to come and say hi!
It has been a wonderful fortnight filled with so much fun, learning and creativity!
Thank you to all of our families for your ongoing support.

Grandparents and Special Friends Open Morning
During Education Week on Wednesday 20th May, we were excited to celebrate the theme of ‘Showcasing Our School’ with our annual Grandparents and Special Friends Open Morning. As the day also coincided with World Bee Day, students enjoyed taking part in a range of bee-themed activities while sharing special moments with their visitors.
Activities included creating a special bee craft, writing about what they would do if they were a bee and participating in a fun bee-themed maths game. Our classrooms were truly buzzing with excitement throughout the morning!
David Attenborough Day
The Junior School had a fantastic time celebrating our whole-school David Attenborough Day in honour of his 100th birthday! Students came dressed as a wide range of amazing animals or explorers and enjoyed a day full of hands-on activities, documentaries, crafts and nature exploration. One of the highlights of the day was a hilarious skit performed by Miss Whittington and Mrs Fox, where ‘David Attenborough’ discovered a koala at Scoresby Primary School and taught students lots of interesting facts about koalas along the way!
