Boys and Super coach win again!
Last Friday, the footy boys made their own way to Frontier Recreation Reserve in Aintree to compete in division football. When we got there, we were all ready to get onto that field and kick a few goals. After we had a little snack we got our boots on and went onto the field to warm up. We did chaos footy and handballs and stretches. After that we were on.
Holy Cross PS 82 vs Wedge Park PS 3
In our first game we played Wedge Park PS and we knew that this would be our toughest game. We made a great start kicking a few early goals. James Walker and Jack Power were tearing up the midfield, Beckham couldn’t lose a hitout and Jack Collins was doing really good in the forward line. A couple of highlights from the game were kicking goals and celebrating with the team.
Holy Cross PS 124 vs Arnold’s Creek PS 11
In our second game we played Arnold’s Creek PS. We made another great start hitting the scoreboard early. James Dwyer and Oliver were holding up the backline and Jameson was doing good in the forward line with a great lead, mark and goal. At half time we switched up the board to give everyone a change at every position. A couple of highlights were winning and celebrating with the team.
Holy Cross PS 89 vs Aintree PS 13
In our last game we knew we had to win to go to the next round, so we locked in to win the game.
We had a promising lead with Tom kicking two nice goals to get us started. We had a strong forward group with Henry, Max M & Max A putting on some good forward pressure and Jacob and Ethan in the backline and ruck putting on some good pressure throughout the game.
Thank you to John Telfer for coaching and Mr Wenczel for coming to help out. Also, thank you to all the parents for coming along to support us and a big thanks to all the umpires and all the people who made this day possible.

Holy Cross Boys with a bit of "Power" Coaching Sweep District Netball!
On Wednesday, the 22 of July, the boys' netball team went to Cobblebank Stadium to play District netball. First, we got a briefing of the day, then we played our first game.
Holy Cross PS 19 vs St. Anthony’s PS 4
In our first game, we were playing St.Anthony’s PS. Hudson & Jacob were on fire in defence; they made so many intercepts. Jack was an outstanding centre for us, and he got us so many opportunities to score. Harrison got a few outstanding passes to Oliver, which resulted in a few goals.
Holy Cross PS 10 vs Melton Christian College 4
This was the toughest game of all, but we all played really well. It was especially hard for our shooters (Beckham, Oliver and James D) because MCC (Melton Christian College) had a giant goalkeeper and a fast Goal Defence. As a team, we played really well and had a great time.
Holy Cross PS 16 vs Pentland PS 4
For the first time, we were behind in a game 2-1 but fought back well, with our defensive three (Henry M, James W and Jack P) holding up really well. With one minute to go, Beckham scored a crazy super shot, and then Oliver did the same 30 seconds later! It was the best feeling knowing we won, and it was the best bus ride home.
Thank you to Ruby Power for coaching and Miss Merrett for coming to help out. Also, thank you to all the parents for coming along to support us, and a big thanks to all the umpires and all the people who made this day possible. Now we will be progressing to Regional Netball in August, as we won all our games.
