Sustainability

Sustainability Update – Term 3
We have lots of exciting things happening in the world of sustainability this term
National Tree Planting Day – This Friday
Ocean Grove Primary School will be celebrating National Tree Planting Day by planting a number of new plants around our school grounds. A huge thank you to Emma Halliday and our wonderful Gardening Group for all their hard work organising this fantastic event.
Community Compost Returns – This Friday
Our Community Compost program is back! Bring your household fruit and vegetable scraps to school each Friday morning to be composted in our school compost system. If you'd like to start composting at home, compost buckets will be available for families wanting to join the program.
E-Waste Week – Week 4Start collecting your unwanted e-waste at home ready to bring to school during Week 4. Items collected will be responsibly recycled, helping to keep valuable materials out of landfill.
Nude Food Tuesdays & Active Wednesdays
Don't forget that every Tuesday is Nude Food Tuesday and every Wednesday is Active Wednesday. We encourage all families to get involved by choosing waste-free lunch options and walking, riding or scooting to school where possible. Getting children involved in packing their lunch is a great way to build sustainable habits at home too!
