你 好 (ni hao) Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 families,
As the swimming program comes to a close, it has been great to see so much improvement and confidence in the pool. Everyone is looking forward to the water fun day which has been rescheduled to next Wednesday the 1st of april. Please remember to bring all swimming gear again on Wednesday. It'll be great to celebrate student success with some swimming fun!
In Guided Inquiry, Foundation has been looking at our community through an exploration of the types of places and people in our community. Students made connections with the swimming pool (Aqua Nation) as part of our own community and explored ways we can contribute, such as cleaning up and looking after the environment. Students worked together to create a giant community map, placing all the important places/buildings on the map, including house. On Tuesday 31st of March, Foundation will have our classroom doors open from 3:15-3:30pm for our Guided Inquiry Showcase 'Me and My Community'. Families are invited to view your child's work/Guided Inquiry project and ask them questions about our community.
In Maths, Foundation have been learning about teen numbers and counting collections to 20. They practiced reading and recognising teen numbers, and used strategies to ensure efficient and accurate counting such as arranging counters and objects in a line or in tens frames. Can you practice your teen numbers (11-20) at home?

Reminders
- Foundation have our Guided Inquiry Showcase 'Celebrating Me and My Community' on Tuesday 31st March. The classroom will be open from 3:15-3:30pm to view student work and students will take home their Guided Inquiry Project.
- Swimming Fun Day is Wednesday 1st of April, please bring your swimming gear.
- Easter Hat Parade is on Thursday Morning
- Thursday is also pyjama day!!
- Thursday is the last day of school for the term. Students finish at 2:30pm.
- Hats are to be worn during Term 1 and beginning of Term 2
