Michael Moschogianis an inspiration to students

A huge congratulations from St Virgil's College to our very own Director of Sport Michael Moschogianis.

Over the holiday period, he represented Australia at this year's ICF Canoe Ocean Racing World Championships in the picturesque town of La Vila Joiosa, Spain.

Michael has put Tasmania on the world map by taking the silver medal with his teammate Jamie Stubbs in the World Men's Master Double Ski. 

Our Sports Supremo came 10th in the world for the Men's Master Single Ski Race.

Conditions were reported as brutal over the 3 days of racing. Hot and flat conditions with little wind made the 17-20km downwind courses along the Mediterranean coast, extremely challenging. 

The water is surely warmer than the 5am training sessions on the River Derwent.

Overall, the Australian team finished third on the medal table.

It's a wonderful achievement for Michael and a great inspiration for all our students.
