Learning Diversity

Dear Families,

If you feel that your child may need extra support or has a Disability that the school is not aware of, please contact the office and ask to speak to Sally Thomas or email me sthomas@saseaford.catholic.edu.au

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

We are currently reviewing and assessing students with disability against the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) criteria and will soon enter the official NCCD collection period.

To be eligible for inclusion in the NCCD, students identified for the collection must have attended school for at least one day within the 20 school days prior to 7 August.

Families are encouraged to support regular attendance during this period to ensure that eligible students can be accurately included in the collection. If your child is likely to be absent for an extended period, please contact the school to discuss their circumstances.

The NCCD helps schools, education authorities and governments better understand the needs of students with disability and supports the provision of appropriate adjustments and resources. Please read the fact sheet below.

Group (PSG) Meetings – Term 2

At our school, we are committed to ensuring that every student has the support they need to thrive. As part of this commitment, we will be holding Program Support Group (PSG) meetings throughout Term 2 for all students with disabilities who have a Personalised Learning Plan (PLP). Thank you to all the families who have attended PSG meetings so far this term. It is such a valuable time for the school to work in partnership with you for the growth of your children.

PSG Meeting Dates

Please note that meetings have been scheduled for the following dates:

  • Friday, June 19
  • Tuesday, June 23

Due to the significant number of meetings being held this term, we have very little flexibility to adjust the schedule. Meetings will go ahead as advised, and we sincerely hope families will be able to make themselves available at their designated times.

Allied Health Professionals in School

Thank you to the parents who have followed the requirements to have Allied Health Professionals in to school. If you have not emailed Sally Thomas regarding  your intention to have Allied Health Professionals in school please do so as soon as possible.

Allied Health Professionals may continue to attend school to provide sessions. Professionals must be registered with SAMS for school visits, and new school approval forms will be issued to support Allied Health attendance.

Parents/carers are required to email the Learning Diversity Leader, Sally Thomas, to request Allied Health visits, outlining the days of the week and times required. Once this request has been received, the necessary documentation will be prepared and sent to parents for completion.
