AUTISM INCLUSION TEACHER
2026
Hello from the Autism Inclusion Teacher,
Next Tuesday night, we are excited to welcome JFA Purple Orange to our school. Their presentation is specifically designed to support the transition to high school for our neurodivergent students, but all families are warmly invited to attend. This session will offer valuable information and practical strategies that can benefit every student moving from primary to high school. With this upcoming event in mind, I wanted to share some key points and helpful strategies for supporting all students as they move into Year 7.
Understanding the Transition
Moving to high school means adapting to a larger campus, different teachers, new routines, and higher expectations. This can be daunting for all students, including our neurodivergent students (such as those with Autism, ADHD, or other learning differences). Changes to routines, environments, and social groups can sometimes lead to extra stress, particularly for neurodivergent learners.
