Prayer for ‘Care for Creation’

Loving God,

We thank you for the beauty of your creation and for the many gifts of the earth. As we welcome the beginning of spring, help us to notice the new life and beauty growing around us.

Inspired by Pope Francis and his message in Laudato Si’, guide us to care for our common home through the choices we make each day.

Teach us to respect all living things, protect our environment and work together to build a more sustainable world.

May our small actions show our gratitude for your creation and help preserve it for generations to come.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Our new focus is the Catholic Social Teaching principle “Care for Creation.” As we welcome the beginning of spring, students will be encouraged to recognise the beauty of God’s creation and understand our shared responsibility to care for our common home. Inspired by Pope Francis’ message in Laudato Si’, we will explore the simple actions we can take to protect our environment and make a positive difference within our school and wider community. 

Family Mass

It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout at our Family Mass on Saturday evening. Thank you to all the students, families and staff who joined us for this special celebration. It was a beautiful opportunity to gather in faith and celebrate the strong connection between our school, parish and wider community. A special thank you to Lou Frewen who helped prepare for the Mass and supported our students to participate so beautifully. 

Class Masses

Mass is at 12.30pm on Fridays at the Church.

This term's Class Mass Times are as follows: 

• Sacrament of Reconciliation - Thursday 10th September at 10am

   

• Friday 18th September: Year 6 and Foundation Class Mass

Aboriginal Spirituality

Aboriginal Spirituality is a source of lore and a way that Aboriginal people communicate their world views. It reflects the ideology that the ancestors returned to the earth which created our sacred and spiritual beliefs.

Then God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness."

As Catholic educators, the identity and success of Catholic education is linked inseparably to the witness of faith given by the community who truly live their faith. Recognising and acknowledging the rich cultural expertise of Aboriginal spirituality will enrich our experience of the catholic faith.
