AIM @ Koorie Youth Summit

On Friday 28th March, our AIM students attended the annual Koorie Youth Summit held at Willum Warrain in Hastings. The event engaged Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander secondary students from across the Mornington Peninsula to attend a day of culture and connection. Willum Warrain’s reflections on the event:
This event is one of our most important days of the year. Our staff always really look forward to having so many young mob from secondary schools across the Peninsula and beyond come and connect around culture at our gathering place. This is the 4th year we have run it and many students are repeat participants. They love the day because it's a day where young mob can truly be themselves. We want all these students to grow up blak, loud and proud and to know they are always welcome at Willum Warrain. Indigenous Hip Hop Projects were deadly as always, bringing such energy and fun. Thanks to all the schools who participated and their committed teachers who made it happen. Thanks also to Vic Health who funded the event - we really appreciate it.
