Celebrating our Learning Support Officers

Last week our school community came together to celebrate LSO Appreciation Week!

Our Learning Support Officers (LSOs) are an essential part of the fabric of our school. Every single day, they bring dedication, energy and patience into our classrooms, supporting teachers and helping students across all year levels thrive.

From Prep right through to Year 6, our LSOs wear many hats. You will find them in every corner of the school:

  • In the Classroom: Guiding small group learning activities, helping students stay focused, and providing extra hands during hands-on literacy, numeracy, and other learning areas.
  • On the Playground: Encouraging inclusive games and ensuring outdoor play is safe, fun, and active for everyone.
  • Behind the Scenes: Helping teachers by breaking down instructions for individual students, demonstrating tasks or guiding students though problem solving steps during independent work tasks.

Teaching is a team effort, and our LSOs work hand-in-hand with classroom teachers to ensure that every student has the encouragement and confidence they need to experience success.

To all of our wonderful LSOs: thank you for your passion, your hard work and the incredible light you bring to our school community every day. We appreciate you!
