Community and Family Engagement

Year 5 Visit to SMC

Today, our Year 5 students had the wonderful opportunity to visit St Monica’s College and gain an insight into secondary school life. They participated in three engaging activities: an Art and Design workshop, where they created cards using oil pastels and pencils; a STEM challenge, where they built and raced their own moving machines; and a wetlands experience, where they learned about local ecosystems while fishing for mosquito fish, an introduced species in the area.

The students enjoyed each activity and left feeling inspired and excited about the opportunities that await them in secondary school.

Father's Day

Fathers Day is just around the corner in Week 7. We will be celebrating with a Father's Day stall and a Father's Day Morning.

The Father's Day Stall will be on Thursday 4th September. Notes will go home soon and money will be due by Wednesday 3rd September. A reminder that late payments will not be accepted, so please ensure you have sent in the form and money on time so your child/children don't miss out.

We need volunteers to sort orders, count money, allocate tokens and layout stock in the lead up to the stall. We also need volunteers on the day to set up, man the stall, serve students replenish stock and pack up. Please see dates and times below. If you can assist, please contact kristie.hocking@smcmeppingnth.catholic.edu.au

The Father's Day Morning will be on Friday 5th September, 8.45-9.45am. Dads or other special visitors are asked to make their way to their youngest child's homegroup in the morning for prayer. Older siblings will meet them there. We will have our Treasure Hunt on again, so if you have any items you can donate for prizes, please get in touch with kristie.hocking@smcmeppingnth.catholic.edu.au

Your donation and business will be formally recognised in our school community.

Congratulations!

Julienne Tanate in Greenfields, Year 2 won GOLD in her age division at the Australian Jiu Jitsu Championships at MSAC on Sunday. What an amazing achievement! Congratulations to Julienne and her family for their hard work and dedication to her sport. Julienne traines 4 days a week in Jiu Jitsu and it has clearly paid off!
