Sacrament of Confirmation

Congratulations to our young Parishoners on celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation last Saturday. May the Holy Spirit be with you always.

Student Enrolments 2026

Last week we met with our Prep 2026 Siblings and their families. It was wonderful to meet our newset students and begin to learn more about them and what they are looking forward to when they begin at SMCM next year. We will have four Prep homegroups in 2026 and still have a small number of enrolment places available. 

Term 3 Fee Statements

Thank you to families who continue to meet their school fee commitments through regular direct debit payments. Your regular payments allow us to plan our budgets for the learning and teaching programs for the remainder of the year.  A reminder to families not paying by direct debit that Term 3 accounts are now due. If you have questions regarding your school fee statement please contact myself or Erwin at reception.

National Catholic Education Conference

This week I am attending the National Catholic Education Conference in Cairns along with 1500 delegates from across Australia and New Zealand. It has been a wonderful opportunity to learn and connect with my  personal faith and servant leadership in Catholic Education. I have had the opportunity to hear from numerous key note speakers including Sr Nathalie Becquart XMCJ from the Vatican who spoke about a synodal vision for Catholic Education.  Today's mass with Bishop of Cairns Joe Caddy was a joyous occasion. I look forward to continuing to reflect on my learning and lead our dynamic school community. I extend my thanks to Jess, Lisa and the SMCM staff for continuing the operations of our school in my absence.

We wish our Year 6 students well as they embark on their two night camp at Campase Downs next Monday. Thank you to the following staff who are attending camp and will ensure our campers have a  memorable experience and stay safe: Lisa, Rachel, Melissa, Michaela, Tasha, Mike, Paul and Christine. Our deepest condolences and prayers to Eli, Ava (Disciples homegroup) and Zach (Pilgrims homegroup) on the passing of Eli's mum earlier this week.
