Cliffhanger Rock-Climbing Gym
Year 10 Outdoor Education Excursion
The Year 10 Outdoor Education class travelled to Altona North to undertake an indoor rock-climbing class on the last day of Term 3. Throughout the term, students learned about risks and motivations for outdoor experiences and the impact of rock climbing on outdoor locations.

The students learned how to belay, being the support person on the floor that ensured the safety of the climber making their way up the rock face. Students took turns climbing and in the belaying role on the floor, with many students making their way quite high up to the roof; our student Riaz impressed us very much as he got to the highest climbing point possible!

I am proud of the courage of the class to give it a go, and their resilience to continue even when the activity was difficult. I am excited to see the students continue to grow in this subject as they transition towards Year 11.
