Important Notices

Late Arrivals
Over recent weeks, we have noticed a significant increase in the number of students arriving late to school each morning. We understand that from time to time mornings can be busy and occasional lateness may occur, however regular late arrivals can have a considerable impact on a child’s learning and wellbeing.
We appreciate the support families provide in helping students arrive at school ready to begin the day.
Our classrooms are open from 8:50am as part of our soft start to the day. This time allows students to calmly enter the classroom, unpack, connect with their teacher and peers, and prepare themselves for the day ahead. Formal learning begins promptly at 9:00am.
When students arrive after 9:00am, they often miss our morning routines, our morning circle where important instructions are given along with expectations for the day, and learning opportunities that help set them up for success throughout the day. Late arrivals can also disrupt the learning environment for other students once teaching has commenced.
As a school, we are committed to ensuring all students are provided with the best possible start to their day and are maximising their learning time. We ask families to please support us by ensuring students arrive at school before 9:00am each morning.
If your family is experiencing difficulties with morning routines or attendance, please do not hesitate to contact the school so we can work together to provide support.
Thank you for your continued support.

Mobile Phone and Smart Watch Reminder
We would like to remind families of our school’s Mobile Phone Policy, particularly in relation to smart watches, including devices such as Spacetalk watches.
As per our policy, any device with mobile phone functionality or the ability to connect to a cellular network must be handed into the office upon arrival at school, where it will be securely stored for the day and returned at the end of the school day.
We have continued to notice students wearing smart watches throughout the school day and ask for your support in ensuring these devices are handed into the office each morning. This helps minimise distractions during learning time and ensures consistency with our school and Department expectations.
Thank you for supporting us on this.
Athletics
A HUGE thank you to our Mr Yasunaga and staff for organising and running our Athletics Carnival last week. The students had an amazing day and it was wonderful to see so many smiles, encouragement and great sportsmanship throughout the event.
It was also fantastic to see a number of parent volunteers supporting across the day. We truly appreciate the time and support from our families in helping make these events such a success.
Cross Country
Some exciting news from today’s District Cross Country event. Keelonith finished 4th overall out of 9 schools!
This is an incredible achievement and something our students should be very proud of, especially considering we are one of the smaller schools in the competition.
Important Reminder – Incursions and Excursions
We would like to remind families about the importance of providing consent and payment for incursions and excursions prior to the event closing on Compass. All events on Compass have a closing date, and it is important that consent and payment are completed before this time.
Closing events prior to the excursion or incursion is essential so that buses, staffing, supervision and risk management requirements can be organised and confirmed to ensure the safety and smooth running of the event. Therefore, we are unable to accept any late consent or payments once an event has closed.
Families are provided with a number of reminders leading up to the closing date. Once an event has closed on Compass, we are unable to reopen the event or accept late payments or consent.
We understand that life can get busy, so we will continue to send reminder notifications to support families and help ensure students do not miss out on opportunities. We appreciate your understanding and support with this process.
Term 2 Assembly Dates
Monday 25th of May at 9.05am.
Friday 26th of June at 9.05am.
Collecting Children During the Day
If you need to collect your child early, please notify the office in advance so we can have them ready for you. Schools are busy places, and it can take time to locate students, particularly if they are in specialist classes or other learning areas.
To minimise disruptions, please avoid collections during:
• Play 1: 10:58 - 11:28
• Play 2: 1:14 - 1:44
During these times, children may not hear PA announcements, and buildings are locked for safety, making it difficult to collect belongings.
