Week 7

This week we celebrate our amazing SASS staff. 

We are so grateful for our wonderful SASS staff that support our teachers and students in and out of the classroom.

A huge thank you to Dawn and her SASS team of Mrs Frost, Miss See, Miss G, Miss D, Mrs Cowley, Miss Grace, Mr T and Mr Lockwood. 

Thank you team for helping us be the best we can be!!

Congratulations to Nixon who represented MGPS and NW at the PSSA State touch Football championships in Coffs Harbour last week.

This week we wish our PSSA students heading to the Northwest Athletics trials good luck.

 We all wished them luck on Monday when we spoke about our PAX word of the week which is Courage.

It is great to have those conversations at home about having the courage to persist and be resilient at this time of the year when our little ones have recitals, sport finals and we are coming out of winter and it is heading towards the end of term.

HPGE Stage 2 “Emerging Entomologists“. 

First day of Spring was the perfect time to try our brand new HPGE program for Stage 2 students: “Emerging Entomologists“. 

Five local schools sent along students to work along our Scientist in Residence; Dr Sue. 

The students searched for invertebrates, classified and categorised them, completed two investigations around woodlice including building a cool maze for them to run in. They also measured “maggots” to see how long “dead animals” had been there for. 

World Duchenne Day

Next Monday we will be holding a fundraiser for World Duchenne Day. 

Behaviour Management flowchart

We have updated our Behaviour Management Flowchart.  Martin's Gully uses the NSW Department of Education Behaviour Management Flowchart (with images adapted for our school context) to guide how we respond to student behaviour.  This ensures a consistent and fair approach—starting with encouragement for positive behaviour, addressing minor issues quickly, and involving parents for more serious matters.  Our aim is to keep every student safe and supported.
