Year 3 and 4 Family and Faith Afternoon

This year marks the Jubilee Year of Saint Francis, a special holy year proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the Transitus (holy death) of Saint Francis of Assisi. During this Jubilee Year, we are invited to "Live Like St Francis" by growing closer to God, caring for others, building peace, and being good stewards of God's creation. Through prayer before the San Damiano Cross, St Francis encountered Christ in a profound way and was inspired by Jesus' call: "Go and rebuild my Church." Inspired by St Francis' response, our Year 3 and 4 Family and Faith Afternoon invited families to gather in prayer and reflection through Visio Divina with the San Damiano Cross. Together, parents and children explored God's call in their lives and reflected on how they can help build God's Kingdom through faith, service, and love. Most importantly, the session provided a precious opportunity for parents and children to step away from the busyness of daily life, spend quality time together, and share a meaningful experience of faith and reflection. 

A number of Jubilee celebrations will be taking place in honour of Saint Francis of Assisi during this special year. Please refer to the flyers below for further details. There will also be an opportunity to visit and venerate the relics of Saint Francis.

Little Xavier Playgroup

It has been a busy and exciting term for our Little Xavier Playgroup, filled with fun, learning, and wonderful opportunities for children and families to connect through play. We have loved sharing so many special moments together and look forward to another great term ahead.

Family Rosary Morning

October is a special month in the Church dedicated to the Rosary. Praying the Rosary as a family is a powerful way to draw closer to Christ. While it can be challenging to find time amidst the busyness of family life, weaving the Rosary into your daily routine is a beautiful way to grow in prayer together.

  7 tips for praying the Rosary as a family.

We are also offering a special opportunity for families to gather in prayer and come together as a community to pray the Rosary before school. We invite you to join us for this beautiful initiative on: 

Monday 19 October and Monday 26 October at  8:30am at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Further information will be shared via Compass during the first week back at school. We look forward to praying with you and your family.
