Dear Parents & Carers,

Here we are at the end of another successful, rewarding and incredibly busy Term 3 at St Francis Xavier.

As I reflect on the past ten weeks, I am once again incredibly proud of our children and all they have achieved. From faith and learning to sport, the arts and community events, there has been so much to celebrate across our school.

Peter Pan School Musical  

Like many of you, I thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful school musical, Peter Pan. 

Our Stage 3 leads were outstanding, and it was equally wonderful to see every class take to the stage for their musical numbers with such confidence and enthusiasm. Given the wealth of talent on display, I suspect a few more children may be enrolling in drama classes after the holidays!

Kudos to Mrs Ennis, whose leadership and commitment brought the production together so beautifully, and to all our staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the evening was such a success. Productions like this require an enormous amount of preparation, and the result was certainly something our whole community could be proud of. Many parents also commented on our new lighting and sound system, which certainly added another dimension to the performance and enhanced the experience for both our children and the audience.

Thank you also to Mrs Maya Saliba and Mrs La Grazia for their generous donation of water and popcorn for the concert.

We raised $1047.00, All funds raised will contribute towards our playground upgrade. 

Colour Fun Run

Our Colour Run returned this year bigger and better than ever! The school was quite

 literally a mass of colour, laughter and smiling faces. It was wonderful to see our children and staff embrace the afternoon with such enthusiasm.

I am delighted to share that, between the Colour Run and individual parent contributions, our community has now raised approximately $40,000 towards our playground refurbishment. This is an extraordinary result and another wonderful example of what can be achieved when our community comes together.

A special thank you to the Azar Family for generously sponsoring the event and supporting our school.

Main Playground

We now look forward to seeing the playground refurbishment completed during the January school holidays. There will also be further improvement during the upcoming spring break, with a new shade sail being installed in the infants’ playground. This work is expected to be completed and ready for our children when they return for Term 4.

So Much Celebrated!

It has certainly been a full and prosperous term for our community.

Our children and families came together for Family and Faith Afternoons across all grades, led by Ms Cindy, while our prayer life continued to remain at the heart of who we are as a Catholic school. Throughout the term, our children participated in a multitude of prayer experiences and celebrations, most notably those honouring Our Lady and St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.

On the sporting field, our students participated in numerous carnivals and representative events. I have been particularly proud of the way our Years 2–6 children have represented St Francis Xavier, consistently demonstrating our school value of Excellence, both in their performance and in the way they conduct themselves.

Our R U OK? Day assembly was another highlight and a powerful reminder of the importance of looking out for one another. Reaching the State Finals of Tournament of Minds was also a tremendous achievement for our Stage 3 students and something of which they should be extremely proud.

We also celebrated our fathers, grandfathers and significant men in the lives of our children through our Father’s Day celebrations, while our Winter Sleepout once again demonstrated the generosity, compassion and strong sense of social justice that exists within our community.

When we consider all that has taken place in just one term, it is quite remarkable.

A very special thank you to our parents and carers for your continued support and

 partnership. The strength of St Francis Xavier comes from the relationship between our children, families, parish and school, and I am grateful for the many ways you continue to support what we are seeking to achieve for every child.

Kudos, as always, to our Leadership Team, teachers and support staff. Their commitment to our children, their professionalism and their willingness to continually go above and beyond are significant reasons why St Francis Xavier continues to be the high-performing, faith-filled and welcoming school community that we are so proud of.

Most importantly, congratulations to our children. Their enthusiasm, joy, kindness and commitment to doing their best are what make our school such a special place.

Looking Ahead

Today, families will receive our Term 4 Parent Planner, which contains the important dates and events for another exciting term ahead.

Term 4 

Students return Tuesday 13 October, with the 2026 school year concluding for our children on Tuesday 15 December.

As we head into the holidays, I hope our children, families and staff enjoy a well-earned break and the opportunity to rest, recharge and spend some precious time together.
