Senior School

Welcome back to all our Senior School students—we hope you’ve had a restful and well-earned break. As we dive into the new term, we’d like to remind families that an updated Senior School Calendar has been sent out via email.

This calendar includes all key dates and events for the remainder of the year, providing a valuable reference to help students and families stay informed and organised as we continue through this important stage of the academic program..

Recent Events:

Reach Legacy Workshop - “This was the best workshop we’ve ever had.” - Year 12 Student

The Reach Legacy workshop provided an incredibly powerful and engaging experience for our Year 12 students, offering them a unique opportunity to reflect deeply on their personal journey through this final year of secondary school. Through a combination of group discussions, individual reflection, and emotionally resonant activities, students were able to unpack the many internal and external factors that shape their approach to Year 12 — not just as learners striving for academic success, but as young people navigating identity, relationships, and life transitions.

The workshop encouraged students to connect with their peers in a meaningful way, building empathy and a shared understanding of the challenges they each face. It created a safe space for students to be vulnerable, which allowed them to explore how stress, expectations, motivation, and personal experiences all impact their mindset and performance during this critical year. Many students walked away with a stronger sense of self-awareness and clarity around their values and goals, which is essential as they begin to consider life beyond Macleod College.

Importantly, the Reach Legacy workshop forms a key component of our broader Engagement and Wellbeing Scope and Sequence. It reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the holistic development of our students — ensuring they feel equipped not just academically, but emotionally and socially, for the transition ahead. By integrating workshops like this into our wellbeing framework, we are actively supporting students to build resilience, confidence, and direction in preparation for their post-school pathways. The impact of this experience will resonate well beyond the classroom, helping to shape the kind of thoughtful, grounded young adults we are proud to see graduate from Macleod College.
