Physical Education and Sports Update
Junior Hooptime – Year 3 & 4
A reminder to all Year 3 and 4 students and families that Junior Hooptime will be held on Monday 17 August. Teams have now been finalised and have begun training in preparation for the event.
A big thank you to our dedicated Year 5 and 6 student coaches, who have been giving up their time to help train and support our younger students. Their leadership, encouragement and enthusiasm have been outstanding, and we greatly appreciate the positive role they are playing in preparing our teams for the day. We wish all of our Hooptime teams the very best of luck!
District Athletics Carnival
Our school team has now been selected for the upcoming District Athletics Carnival to be held at Casey Fields. Students earned selection based on their performances at this year's House Cross Country and House Athletics events.
Maramba Sports Academy
Our Maramba Sports Academy students have been working extremely hard throughout the term and continue to show excellent commitment to their training.
Over the past few weeks, students have been participating in specialist tennis coaching with elite coach Jess from the Fountain Gate Tennis Club. These sessions have provided students with the opportunity to further develop their technical skills, game awareness and confidence under the guidance of an experienced coach.
In addition to tennis, students continue to participate in basketball and athletics training with Mr Wilson. Basketball sessions have focused on skill development, teamwork and game play, while athletics training has concentrated on improving sprinting technique, running efficiency, speed and overall athletic performance.
It has been fantastic to see the dedication, effort and positive attitude shown by all Sports Academy students. Their willingness to challenge themselves, support one another and strive for continuous improvement has been outstanding, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth throughout the remainder of the term.
