Performing Arts

The 3-6 students started the term learning to play different instruments and read music. They have now all transitioned into a larger focus on dance and drama and have begun learning their class act for the 3-6 concert that will be held later in the year. More information to come on this at the beginning of next term.

The F-2 students have also been playing simple music and using their body to make and record percussion sequences. The students have enjoyed being exposed to more dance and drama activities. They will finish out the term looking at Aboriginal Dreamtime stories and use drama activities to re-create the stories.

The School Band had another successful performance at assembly in week 3 with their cover of “Sweet Child of Mine”. Both the Band and school Choir have also began learning their act for the 3-6 concert.

The Choir performed a beautiful song at assembly for Anzac Day in week 1 and sang “Hail Mary, Gentile Women” for the Mother's Day Breakfast. The Choir sang with the Parish Choir for two weeks and enjoyed a love of singing together as we all prepared the music for the Confirmation and Eucharist Mass on May 22nd. Thank you to those students from the Choir who attended the Sunday Mass and helped the Parish Choir sing.
