Prep Learning Reflection

Term 2, Week 1 - 2
Prep have had a fantastic start to Term 2 and have jumped straight back into their learning with enthusiasm!
This term in Systemic Knowledge we are exploring living and non-living things. We headed out to the Nugal-Nganjin Garden to observe and investigate, with our Prep students turning into curious little scientists. Asking questions, making discoveries, and sharing their ideas about the world around them.
In Maths, we have been learning about the properties of shapes and beginning to explore place value using ten frames. It’s been wonderful to see students building their number confidence and starting to recognise how numbers are made. Lots of counting, grouping, and “aha!” moments along the way.
In Phonics, we’ve been busy learning some new sounds: k, l, u, and r. Students are doing a fantastic job practising these in their reading and writing. We love seeing their confidence grow each day.
As the weather cools down, we’re noticing that jackets are needed in the morning but often come off later in the day. Please remember to clearly label all of your child’s belongings to help us keep track of everything.
It’s been a joyful and busy start to the term. We’re so proud of how our Prep learners are settling back in and embracing new challenges!
