Grade 3

The Grade 3 students have had an exciting start to Term 2! After the school holidays, the students have been engaged with their learning and have produced some outstanding work.
We have had so many exciting events in the first few weeks of term. Already we’ve had ANZAC Day and our first foray into Cross Country and Mother’s Day with swimming coming up next week!
In English students are focusing on Procedural writing. Students are realising that we encounter procedural writing regularly. We began with a demonstration into how we need to be precise in our instructions with the teachers making some very dodgy jam sandwiches…
In Mathematics, we have started off the term with a focus on Fractions. The students are learning more about common fractions, understanding how they function and how we use them in everyday life. Students have been exploring the connection between multiplication and division. They have been learning about fact families, using arrays, and solving problems involving sharing and grouping.
Our Integrated topic looks into changes throughout the world and how it impacts the lives we live.
