Caritas 2025

As we know through this period of Lent our focus has been on our support of the charity Caritas, and all of the wonderful work they complete through Project Compassion.
Following this link you are able to see some specific Project Compassion stories and where donations are sent.
Our students have been following these stories in their classroom as well, learning, for example, how Caritas helps provide fresh water to schools in Samoa, aids those with disabilities in Vietnam and helps support small businesses for those experiencing poverty in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
As Caritas say, help change lives today. We are so proud of our community and their wonderful generosity through our Project Compassion initiatives, and you have done exactly that!
Students have enjoyed putting money in their class Caritas boxes which are absolutely full of coins. We look forward to counting these donations and passing on to Caritas!
Guess the Lolly Jar Competition
Congratulations to Millie, who with her donation made a guess which was only three lollies off the total of 241 lollies in the jar! We hope Millie and her family are enjoying this prize and didn't try to finish them in one night!
Our St Anthony's Pet Hall of Fame
This was an absolutely roaring success and we are so grateful for all that took part! Not only were our students and staff able to proudly show off their furry (or scaly!) friends, they were also able to feel extra special knowing that their entry also contributed to Caritas.
Our Pet Hall of Fame can be seen on our stairwell, and is jam packed with what many of us would describe as the cutest members of the family!
You can see a breakdown of all our entries below, with cats, dogs and fish being very popular, but insects, birds and lizards not missing out! No snakes this time, but perhaps in the future!
We did promise to share all of the members of our Hall of Fame, so please enjoy having a look through below!
The official Project Compassion Prayer 2025 includes the following sentiment:
May we work in unity for the freedom of the oppressed and the renewal of creation.
May our compassionate minds and generous hearts help bring about a world where all can live in peace.
You cannot visit our school, or indeed read this section of the newsletter without seeing these very words in action. We thank our families and community members so very much for their compassionate minds, generous hearts and their willingness to help those in need. God bless all of you, and again thank you so very much for your involvement and generosity!
