Keeping Children Safe Online

Keeping Children Safe Online These School Holidays

With the school holidays upon us, many children will be spending more time online—playing games, watching videos and connecting with friends. It's a great opportunity to check the parental controls on your family's devices, review the games and apps your children are using, and have regular conversations about safe and respectful online behaviour.

The short video below provides practical guidance on setting up parental controls to help manage screen time, filter age-appropriate content and create a safer online experience for your family.

The eSafety Commissioner also has a range of excellent resources for parents and carers. Their online gaming advice includes information about choosing age-appropriate games, understanding in-game chat and purchases, setting healthy boundaries around gaming, and helping children navigate online interactions safely.

Helpful Resources:

We encourage all families to take a few minutes over the break to explore these resources. A few simple checks and conversations now can help ensure children enjoy a safe, positive and balanced online experience throughout the holidays.
