The St Joseph’s Primary School Art Show is a biannual showcase and celebration of the arts! The Art Show this year will be held on
Wednesday 21st October from 5pm ~ 7:30pm, and it is a whole school event.
Art Show Theme
FAMOUS ARTISTS
The Art Show always has an essential theme underpinning the artwork made by the students. We are excited to announce that this year the theme is ‘Famous Artists’. This theme is in line with the Visual Arts Victorian curriculum and enables students to explore ways in which iconic artists use processes and materials to communicate ideas, perspectives and meaning across cultures, times, places and other contexts. Our students are thoroughly enjoying learning about historical contexts and the personal stories of various artists over time, and the impact that they have made on the world. Through this exploration, our students have been inspired to create their own masterpieces.
Art Show New Format
This year, we are updating the format of the art show. We are pleased to announce our new and improved art show format. These changes have been made in consultation with the Parents and Friends Association, the School Advisory Council and our school Leadership Team.
Here is an overview of the Art Show. There will be more information to come. This year, we will no longer be running the Saturday Art Show open day, as we are having Grandparents Day on Friday 23rd (the Friday after the art show). Niki and I have been venturing out to our local kindergartens to do some artwork with the kinder children. The kinder families will be invited to our Thursday evening school event to see their child’s artwork in our art show displays. Another change is that, due to Child Safety regulations, there will be no alcohol served, and teachers will not be looking after students. Students will be under the care and supervision of parents at all times for the duration of the evening.

Sponsorship Opportunities
If you or your business would like to become an official sponsor of the art show, we are looking for donations of $500 or more to contribute towards the fundraising of the event. Please email me before the end of this term if you are interested in becoming an official sponsor of the show.
How you can get involved
If you love art and would like to pop into the art room on Friday, 24th July, from 9 - 11am, we will be having an Art Show working bee where we do some framing, cutting, pasting, etc. It is a wonderful way to get involved and meet other parents, so please come along.
