NAIDOC Day Celebrations

On July 22, St Michael’s proudly celebrated NAIDOC Day 2026 and its theme, "50 Years of Deadly." It was an incredible day of culture, connection, and community as our students engaged in rock painting, weaving, and crafting Mitch Tambo inspired headpieces.

A highlight of the day was a contemporary dance our students practised for months. The performance told the story of a storm bringing rain to Country, filling streams, rivers, and billabongs, and bringing native animals to life. It served as a powerful reminder that when we care for Country, Country cares for us. 

A huge thank you to TAMS, Regina Menz (Director of Armidale Catholic Schools) and Kelly Walters (ACS) for joining us. We also deeply appreciate the support of the Manilla Early Learning Centre, Manilla Preschool, Father Damien and our wonderful families. Thank you for helping us honour 50 years of strength, resilience, and culture!
