Athletics Day

The bus left at 9.00am and took us to Casey Fields for the District Athletics Day. 

I took part in the 800m race.  There were 14 students from different schools and I came 6th place.   The race was just over 1 and a half laps of the oval. The other runners were close behind me but I kept going to the end.   I was proud of my race.  I took part in the Hurdle event and came fourth.  Our school came third in the relay race, our team was Shadrack, Hanesh, Felito and me.  We were very happy with our achievement.  We returned to school around 2.20pm.

I participated in shot put.  I had practiced at school and learnt the technique for throwing the shot put.  The shot put was not very heavy and I managed to throw it 3.5 metres. There were some students from other school that managed to throw it 6.5 metres which was very impressive.  We watched the girls 200m race and there was an amazing sprinter who was miles ahead of the pack.  It was a great race to watch.   We enjoyed sitting by the finish and watching people finish their races.
