JERSEY UPDATE

Moving forward students who receive a jersey for any upcoming trial, gala day or interschool sport will be recorded as proof of this borrowing method. This will allow our school to continue to use these jerseys and have enough for all students to wear and represent our school proudly at the many sporting events we provide to all students. Once jerseys are washed and returned to the school office, our staff will mark that the jersey has been returned. Any jerseys not returned will incur a fee to replace this jersey.

Please check the wardrobes at home and return any jerseys of any style (singlet, soccer jersey or footy jersey) which belongs to the school. Thank you for the cooperation with this matter.

Interschool Sport

Last term the Year 4 Interschool Shark Tag was cancelled due to the rain. We have received information that the new date for the gala day is Wednesday 15th October during Term 4. This new date has been reflected in the COMPASS event. We are pleased our students will still have the opportunity to participate in this gala day.

Our Year 3 students were lucky enough to get outdoors for their Shark Tag interschool sporting opportunity. Students took advantage of the clearer skies and enjoyed the time with their peers while developing their skills and broadening their knowledge of the rules involved in shark/league tag.

Year 4 was the first year group to commence the Interschool European Handball with SCS. All students have been learning and practising the skills during physical education lessons to ensure they have a better understanding of the game before the day.

Sutherland Basketball Gala Day

Our Stage 2 boys will enjoy their turn at the Sutherland Basketball Gala Day on Monday.

Thank you to the parent helpers for assisting Mrs Moss on the day. Here are some photos from the Stage 3 Girls gala day hosted by Sutherland Basketball.

NFL Gala Day

10 students across Stage 3 attended the NFL Gala Day. This was a very competitive day and the second year our school has been involved. Over the course of the day we took 2 wins, and 2 losses. The students displayed wonderful sportsmanship and gave it their all. Well done on working together as a team!

With that being said, some of our students are getting involved in a competition that is held in the shire. Please see below the information.

Optional Sutherland Hockey Gala Day Years 3-6

Our school has been invited to the Sutherland Hockey Club Gala Day on Tuesday 23rd September at Tradies Hockey Park (73 Sylvania Rd, Miranda) from approximately 8:30am-3:00pm. Parents are required to transport their child to and from the grounds for this particular gala day.

Our school can only send limited teams based on equipment availability. At present this is an expression of interest and we will plan for this gala day based on numbers.

This gala day has been set up for beginner or experienced players. Therefore if your child plays hockey or shows interest in the sport, this will be a great opportunity for them to be involved. Mouthguards and shin pads are compulsory in which all players will need to purchase. We have also been kindly supplied with a limited number of sticks and goalkeeping equipment. Junior teams play without a goalkeeper for this gala day.

Junior Mixed Team (Year 3 and 4)

Senior Mixed Team (Year 5 and 6)

If your child is interested in attending this gala day, please fill in the following Expression of Interest. This form will close on Friday 29th August. After registrations close, families will be notified of the outcome for this gala day.
