PRAYER

At St John’s our students begin each day spending a few moments in prayer.  This gives everyone an opportunity to give thanks to God for all the blessings he has bestowed upon us and allows us the opportunity to pray for the things closest to our hearts.  Each class begins their prayer by reflecting on the life of one of the many saints recognised by the church.

St Carlos Acutis was canonised a saint last year.  He was born in 1991 and passed away at the age of 15 in 2006.  His family did not go regularly to Mass, but as a teenager Carlos developed a strong relationship with God by going to Mass each day.  The internet was a relatively new medium at the time and before his death, St Carlos created a website so people could find information out about Eucharistic Miracles that have occurred throughout the world.  Below is a prayer that families may like to say together:

Saint Carlo Acutis,

You loved Jesus in the Holy Eucharist

and used your gifts for God's glory.

Help us to be pure, truthful, and kind

To study well and use technology for good.

Guide us to love Jesus more each day

and walk the road to heaven with joy.

Amen.
