Message from the

Director of  Learning

Middle School

It has been a very positive and smooth start to the 2026 school year across Middle School. Our Year 9 students have settled well into their new sub-school and classes, and teacher feedback has been extremely encouraging. Our Year 10 students have continued their learning journey with maturity, using this year to build strong foundations for VCE and beyond.

At Westall, we are committed to maintaining high expectations in Middle School to best prepare students for senior school and for life more broadly. This includes consistent punctuality, correct uniform, and—most importantly—strong attendance.

We have been so pleased to hear stories of families going the extra mile to ensure their children attend school each day, and of students taking real responsibility for improving their attendance. This commitment makes a significant difference. High attendance supports stronger learning outcomes, future opportunities, and a calmer, more focused classroom environment for all students.

From a teaching perspective, regular attendance allows lessons to build meaningfully and keeps classrooms academically focused, benefiting every learner.

Thank you to all families and students for the positive start to the year and for your ongoing support in helping every child arrive ready to learn each day. Your efforts truly make a lasting impact.
