Kicking off a debating journey

Year 7s and 8s recently showed that Mullauna’s debating future won’t be rebutted, that they are ready to continue our school’s proud tradition of debating excellence.

Two Year 7 teams debated whether ‘phones should be allowed in class’. The team of Jasmine, Charlie, Henry and Liam argued against this and narrowly defeated a team of Anneliese, Reya, Lachie, and Thomas. Anneliese was declared Best Speaker.

The Year 8s debated the very topical issue of whether ‘social media should be banned for under 16s'. Christina, Delara, and Michelle argued against this and won the tussle against Will, Oliver, and Alex. Christina was declared Best Speaker.

Congratulations to all the debaters. I hope this is just the start of your debating adventure at Mullauna.
