WALERT - The Scaley Tail Walert and the Nynghan (Echidna)

A long long time ago in the Dreamtime, The Walert was up in his tree eating nuts, this was his favourite food.

One day the Walert climbed down and went walkabout. Maybe to drink water. Maybe to hunt around for more food.

Along came Nynghan who climbed up and stole all the nuts from the Walert. The Walert climbed back up and saw Nynghan there. They had a big fight. The Nynghan was about to fall but he got hold of the Walert’s tail and held on.

The Walert kept on kicking but Nynghan accidently ripped his skin off the tail. The Walert accidently gave Nynghan one last kick. The Nynghan accidently fell down on the spikey thorns of the leaves.

Today Nynghan has lots of spikes, and the Walert has no fur on his tail, that's why they call him the Scaly-tail Walert.
