Welcome to Edition 6

I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable break, and that families are back into the routine for the start of Term 3. We are heading into what will be a busy term, so it is important that we begin with clear, consistent expectations across all Year 7 and 8 classes.
Our focus for an orderly learning environment begins with the preconditions for learning, particularly our entry and exit routines. Over this term, we will explicitly teach, explain and practise these expectations with each of the classes. Some elements will be new or may differ from previous routines. Investing time in establishing these routines now will support calmer classrooms, maximise learning time and provide long term benefits throughout the semester.
Key Focus Areas:
- Entry and exit routines
- Students remaining in the classroom during lessons
- Students only leaving for toilet breaks, one at a time and with their diary
- Respectful behaviour and language
- Correct school uniform
- Building positive connections with students
- Consistent implementation of the Mobile Phone Policy
