Mildura Eisteddfod 2026 - June 7 - 10

There have been some changes made this year with some new requirements for the students. Please see the note below:

Dear Competitors, Parents, Guardians and Teachers,

As part of the Mildura Eisteddfod Society’s ongoing commitment to Child Safety and best practice, there will be a small but important change to procedures for all competitors under the age of 18 participating in the 2026 Mildura Eisteddfod.

All competitors under 18 years of age will fall under the Mildura Eisteddfod Society’s duty of care whilst participating within our event spaces and backstage areas. As such, all competitors under 18 will need to be correctly signed out and collected by a nominated adult following their performance.

At registration, all competitors aged 17 years and under will be asked to nominate the adult responsible for collecting them after their performance. Following their item, competitors will exit the backstage area via the side stage door, where a Mildura Eisteddfod volunteer will remain with them until they are collected by their nominated adult.

If a competitor is attending as part of a school group or class excursion, duty of care will remain with the supervising classroom teacher and/or school staff, in line with normal school excursion procedures.

We understand this process is new and may take a little getting used to, however the safety and wellbeing of the young people participating in our Eisteddfod is incredibly important to us. Our volunteers and committee members are committed to creating a safe, supportive and positive environment for every performer who steps onto our stage.

We kindly ask for everyone’s patience, understanding and cooperation as we implement these important Child Safe procedures across the 2026 program.
