Through the Leadership Lens

Get Ready for National Simultaneous Storytime 2026!
Australia's biggest collective reading event is almost here, and this year, it's going to literally kick goals!
On 27 May, St. Leonard’s will join millions of readers across the country and beyond as Elise Kellond-Knight, Matilda's legend and international football superstar, reads the 2026 NSS title, Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller, written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, illustrated by Jake A. Minton - celebrating the joy of reading, storytelling and connection.
Published by Little Book Press, the story follows the spirited kangaroo, Luna and her friends as they chase their football dreams across the outback, blending action, teamwork and fun to inspire young readers. Luna Roo was selected from 84 submissions from publishers around the country.
“We chose Luna Roo for NSS because it captures the spirit of rising to a challenge with heart and grit” said Kellie John, a member of the selection panel and ALIA’s Children and Youth Services Special Interest Group. “Navigating nerves, tricky opponents, and unexpected hurdles reflects the kind of determination kids face every day. It is a powerful celebration of courage, self-belief, and pushing through when things get tough.”
We look forward to listening to the story and completing some activities as a whole school on Wednesday afternoon.
School Fees
CHANGE TO SCHOOL FEES 2027 - TIERED TUITION FEE STRUCTURE
In accordance with directives provided by the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), a new tiered tuition fee structure will be introduced for the 2027 school year, replacing the current flat family fee model.
MACS has implemented this revised fee structure across Catholic schools to provide a more equitable and consistent approach to tuition fees for families, particularly those with multiple children enrolled in Catholic education.
Under the new structure, tuition fees will be charged on a tiered basis according to the number of children attending the school. The proposed 2027 tuition fee structure will be as follows (amounts to be confirmed in due course):
• First child: $________
• Second child: $________
• Third and subsequent child(ren): $________
This revised model is intended to better support families while ensuring the ongoing sustainability of Catholic education and the continued provision of high-quality teaching, learning and student wellbeing programs.
Please note that tuition fees are separate from other school levies and charges which may apply eg. capital, camps, excursions, swimming, sporting and year level levies. Further information, including confirmed fee amounts will be communicated to families in due course.
School Closure
Please note that Friday, 5th June will be a school closure day.
On a different note, we are also excited to share the wonderful news that Henley in Prep A has welcomed a new baby brother! Hudson was born on 15th May, and we send our warmest congratulations to the family at this special time. We look forward to hearing all about this exciting new chapter.
Have a good weekend!
