2026 School Theme - Coherence 

Dear Westbreen PS Families, 

Industrial Action - no stop work this week

I have been informed that the commencement of half day work stoppages planned by the AEU have been suspended following negotiations between all parties. This means school will go ahead as normal tomorrow. 

Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS)

Parents and Carers of years 4-6 students should have received an email via this week explaining the Attitudes to School Survey. The AtoSS is a voluntary student survey offered by the Department of Education every year to help schools and the department understand students' experiences of school. We will ask students about their thoughts and feelings about their school, their learning, relationships with other students, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general. This year, the survey will be conducted between the 11th May to 12th June. There are a number of benefits from completing the survey. Young people enjoy having a say! This survey has been running for nearly 20 years and helps our school to plan programs and activities to improve your child's engagement with school, their wellbeing and their learning. The survey data also helps the Department of Education understand how to improve student learning.

School iPads

We are so excited about the new class set of iPads to be in use from this week. Teachers can book this great resource to use in their classroom.

New website

You may have noticed that our school website looks a little different! It has been rebuilt with the aim to make the website simple to navigate to provide information about our school that is up to date and easy to find. As always, if you find any errors, or something is missing that you think would help our community, please let us know.

Reminder: New Canteen Item! Noodles are here!

In response to student feedback through Junior School Council, the canteen will be offering a special Term 2 item - Noodles! They will be available in either chicken or beef flavour at a cost of $5. These will only be available on Mondays! Order via Qkr! app. 

Reminder: Breakfast Club

Unfortunately, we have not been able to run Breakfast Club over the past few weeks due to a lack of volunteers. Breakfast Club is a highly regarded school program but can not run without the support of our community. If you (or someone you know that has a Working with Children Check) are able to assist on any morning to prepare and serve breakfast (cereal, toast etc), please contact the office. We need your support to continue this great service for our community.
