Welcome to our first newsletter for Term 4. With an eleven-week term ahead, we are carefully scheduling learning around the many exciting activities and events we have in store for our students across the term.

A significant proportion of this term is dedicated to preparing for the 2027 academic year. This includes the student class placement process for next year. This process is outlined on the following page of the newsletter and has not changed from my previous years at the school. Please read this information carefully and I thank you in advance for your cooperation with this process.

Key dates for the class placement process include:

  • Friday 9th October – class placement process communicated via school newsletter.
  • Monday 26th October – class placement requests closed (see class placement process on next page for further information).
  • Wednesday 2nd December – class structure for 2027 released to the community via Compass.
  • Friday 4th December – staff placement for 2027 released to the community via the newsletter.
  • Monday 7th December – curriculum day (student free), with a focus on planning for learning and wellbeing programs in 2027.
  • Tuesday 8th December – school-wide orientation day (with students meeting their 2027 teacher and classmates).

We look forward to welcoming our 2027 Prep students to our school for four sessions throughout November and December, as they prepare for their transition to Primary School. These sessions will run from 9:30am on a Wednesday morning on November 4th, 11th, and 18th, culminating in their orientation day on Wednesday 2nd December, where they will meet their 2027 teacher and classmates.

It has been delightful to welcome back our Assistant Principal, Georgia Despotellis, this term. She was missed dearly by students, staff and families alike last term and it has been lovely to see the warm welcome she has received upon her return.

I have shared some important updates on Compass earlier this week, including:

  • A congratulations to our community on their efforts with the ‘Bundeera Road One Way at Drop-Off and Pick-Up’ initiative, led by our School Council. I have contacted Glen Eira Council this week to update them on the success of the initiative, with the intent to make this change permanent and official.
  • An update for our Year 5 cohort, who had to temporarily relocate to specialist classrooms after the significant deluge late last week caused water damage to floors and carpets.
  • A reminder to contact the school as soon as possible regarding students who are not returning to our school in 2027. If this is relevant to you, please contact the school via email here.

Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.
