Principal Message

Dear Families,
Welcome to this week's newsletter update! We have an incredibly busy and exciting week ahead, particularly with our highly anticipated school concert just around the week's end. Please take note of the important event updates and reminders below.
School Concert This Friday: The big day is almost here! The 2026 School Concert is on this Friday. Our students and Performing Arts staff have been working tirelessly to perfect their performances. We cannot wait to see you all there to celebrate our students' hard work and creativity.
Assembly Postponed: Please note that due to the busy concert schedule, we will postpone assembly this week. Assembly will resume in Week 3. Thank you for your understanding as we focus our energy on making Friday spectacular!
Colour Run Updates: Get ready to add some vibrant fun to your calendar! Keep your eyes out in the newsletter for more information from Nikita and the Colour Run team. There are some exciting new ‘surprises’ to be announced very soon, so stay tuned!
Foundation 2027 Enrolments: We are already looking ahead to the future! And although we announced the team last week, we have some very exciting information to share. Mrs Jess Chadwick has let us know she is expecting her first child and will only be with us for a short time in 2027. Therefore, we have asked Amy Wright to remain in Foundation and she is happy to do so! The only consistent thing in education is change! We are all so happy for Jess and Jordon on this news.
Foundation to Year 2 (F-2) Swimming Program: Splashtime is approaching! Preparation is underway for our F-2 Swimming Program. Permission forms will have been sent home soon via Sentral. Please ensure your contact details are up to date, so you don't miss these important logistics. Perhaps add some extra food for the swimmers as they will be tired and even hungrier than usual.
Celebrate World Teacher’s Day: Friday October 30th is the day to show your appreciation of the amazing teachers at OGPS. Perhaps a kind note, a token of appreciation or a nice Seesaw message would be well received by the staff that care for and teach your children daily. Until you leave our school or perhaps arrive from another school, you may not be aware just how kind, caring and dedicated they are to your children. Let’s show our appreciation on 30th October.
SunSmart Hats Reminder: As the weather warms up, a friendly reminder that SunSmart hats are now compulsory for all outdoor activities and recess times. Please ensure your child has their named school hat in their bag every day. Remember: No hat, no play!
Enjoy the rest of the week.
